Most people do not have problems with receding gums while they are young. However, to prevent receding gums in the years to come, proper dental maintenance must begin early.
If you wait until you actually have problems with receding gums, it’s very difficult to make the problems go away. Prevention is the key.
So, what’s the worry if you develop receding gums? For one, it’s the first stage of periodontal disease that will get worse and worse. You will have constant pain, bleeding and oral infections that pollute the rest of your body. Trust me, it is worth just a little bit of effort to avoid this mess.
And, it really is easy to do the daily maintenance to prevent receding gums. The trick is to destroy the germs in your mouth every time you brush – both morning and night. A quick 20 second rinse will do the trick. But, be warned – rinsing with just mouthwash is not enough!!
