The 4 hour Body by Tim Ferris was a big eye opener for me and really got me to consider his mantra of the biggest impact with the least effort in terms of diet and exercise. When my wife recently discovered how high Cosmetic surgery prices were it really focused her mind as well. Yet despite my championing of the book she found an alternative which in many ways conflicts with 4HB yet she has had great results.
Her diet says that you can start off with 5 to 6 servings of vegetables and fruit, these really should be eaten everyday, not to mention all throughout the day this in direct conflict with Ferris who says leave out all fruit as the fructose is very high calorie.
The wife’s version says the vitamins as well as nutrition located in fruit and veg can actually make it easier to fight off certain illnesses and diseases. Just eating fruit can also be helpful for those people who just can’t eat vegetables. If you are just a fruit eater, you should make sure to vary the fruit you eat each day, don’t merely eat apples. Eating fruit is better than eating no produce, but if you can, try to choke down some veggies every so often as well. Also try to eat your fruits and vegetables before starting on your main course. The primary goal of doing that is to start filling you up before you get to the other foods on your plate that are not as healthy and balanced for you.
One more thing that can help you to eat less is to make sure you drink a whole glass of water before you decide to sit down for your meal. Another thing with regards to drinking water, is that it will help to cleanse your body, so you will be eating less and flushing out the body at the same time.
