Dental Implants Excellent for Replacing Lost Teeth
October 19, 2011 Dental, Dental Care
About three years ago I needed to have a tooth extracted, and my dentist explained my options for replacing the tooth. These included a bridge or having a dental implant. I am well versed on the subject of dental bridges, since I’ve had one in my mouth for over forty years. It has always worked well, and the only problem is trying to clean underneath it, but that is really not a big issue. Dental implants were not used when my bridge was inserted so many years ago. The advantage of the implant is that it is made of titanium, and this material actually makes a chemical bond into the bone in one’s jaw. Thus, when a cap is placed onto the implant post, the resulting tooth is just as strong as a natural tooth. My has been fine since it was installed, and I would recommend this procedure to anyone who needs to replace a tooth. The cost was about the same as a bridge. Boulder Co dentist has lots of information about dental implants and good oral hygiene in general.
