I was once asked by my adult son what the point was in taking out some kind of temporary health insurance policy. “What can possibly happen to me in the next 6 months while I wait for my new job to commence”, he said. I replied by explaining health waits for no man, and whether that comes in the form or an illness or accident, it will not happen if and when it’s going to happen regardless on a person’s health care coverage. If there’s one certainty about this body of ours and the life in which we live, it’s that of uncertainty. Healthy living and a healthy lifestyle increase the chances of maintaining good levels of fitness and wellbeing, but nothing, repeat nothing, should eve be taken for granted.
Health Insurance is a necessary evil, yet if we ever need it for dental care or illness we look at it in a whole new light. When we need to claim and it covers our every need, that necessary evil becomes our godsend.

Are you about to embark on the ever popular high protein diet plan? Many do, and many also manage to lose all the weight they set out to lose because of it. The high protein diet is a pretty good way to lose weight reasonably quickly yet without being too fast, providing it is followed specifically as it is laid out. It seems that the average body takes kindly to a diet of high protein, but is this diet really sustainable in the long term scheme of personal weight management?
The Body and the Mind Feeds off of Variety
Although many eating plans work if there are followed by the dieter, no eating schedule can be healthy in the long term. Extremely low fat diets (calorie counting), high protein diets, vegetarian diets, low acid, high alkaline diets, and so on and so forth all have one thing in common. They limit the choices in foods that those on them can eat.
Cutting out enjoyable foods and beverages in the short term is not a problem, but we humans do like variety, and it is the later craving for variety that sees many dieters resort back to their old lifestyle. You see, we get bored with the same ole foods from the same old food groups. So what is the answer? It’s simpler than you might think.
We go ON a diet, which means we’re perhaps meant to come OFF it at some point. That point will usually be when we have reached our target weight. Now, most of us piled on the pounds through 2 things. 1. We eat too many fattening foods and consumed too many fattening drinks far too often. And 2. Very few of us had a regular exercise regime.
So, the answer to maintaining your perfect weight is this; you go on a diet of your choosing to reach your goal weight, and then when you come off it, you already have in place a lifestyle change. This will include variety in foods and beverage, but unlike before, the key will be moderation, less of the crap and more of the good, and a regular exercise routine.
Finally, and this is important, we stay hydrated as often as possible. Not only does drinking plenty of fresh water (or water with fresh lemon or lime juice added for taste), rid the body of toxins but it’s also good for our skin too. Now, after your strict dieting, you now have a balanced lifestyle where you get lots of nutrition and vitamins, you have more energy than you know what to do with, you feel fantastic and look great, and yet you can still enjoy a whole variety of your favourite foods in moderation.
You know, the great thing about moderation is that we get to enjoy all foods more, and we look forward to eating them, rather than just snacking and scoffing at random, as was the case when we lived an unhealthy lifestyle.

There’s just no pleasing some folks. Men are crying as soon as they start losing their hair, and women are paying through the nose for services that charge for removing hair permanently. Yeah, okay so we know one is for enhancing women’s concept of beauty whereas the other, men’s head hair, is all about the fear of becoming ugly through a patchy head.
You know, hair is a funny thing. It makes men puke to see too much hair on a woman’s body, apart from the hair on her head of course, for which she spends a small fortune on by stocking up on beauty products such as wax, tweezers, and hair removal strips to remove that little lady moustache from above her lips!
Men will invest in clippers to keep a neat beard and or to make sure those tuffs or unwanted hair sprouting out of his nostrils and ears stay out of sight. I guess what this short blurb is trying to convey is that hair care is a huge industry and probably takes up more of our free time, both men and women, than we even realise.

The short answer to that is NO! It seems like everyone want to be in great shape without lifting a finger, but things just don’t work out like that. We human beings are supposed to move, be active, and forever striving for that next best thing. Even if an armchair diet was discovered, what of it? Okay, so a pill, potion, or some other alternative treatment might shed those excess pounds, but just because you’ve lost weight that doesn’t mean your body is toned and your lifestyle becomes one of healthy living just because you’re no longer fat.
Alternative healing and treatments are mere aids to help us embark on a new lifestyle, a way of life where we have more energy and zest than we know what to do with. Looking good does not equate to feeling good and being able to perform at our best. A weight lifter for example can be extremely unfit if all he does is stand on a spot and lift weights to bulk out his muscles. But ask the same guy to run up and down the stairs a few times and he’ll probably collapse with exhaustion after 2 minutes.
Losing weight, whether it be through acupuncture weight loss treatments or some strict diet, is nothing without exercise and attitude adjustment. Nourish your body with foods packed with nutrition, stay hydrated, and eat a healthy balanced diet at all times. Oh, and don’t forget to move, move, and move some more! Then, and only then, will you really get to look and feel like you’ve never looked and felt since you were a teenager.

We’ve all been attracted to various people because of their looks only to be turned off when they smile and reveal a mouth full of crooked, broken, or badly stained teeth. Visual beauty can be lost by teeth that are neglected just as a first kiss from a fowl smelling breath can break a relationship before it’s had time to grow and flourish. Dental care is something that people prefer to do themselves at home with little more than a toothbrush and tube of toothpaste. Those who invest in an individual dental plan are actually investing in a preventative program for their teeth and that is a far better plan than the fix it when its broke approach.
A beautiful face with an uncared-for mouthful of teeth is at a disadvantage in all areas of society. Whether it’s right or wrong, we live in a time where first impressions count for a lot.

Who would have though just 15 years ago that it would be possible to attend and train for alternative medicine and treatment therapies in western countries? Anyone interested in acupuncture would have had to go overseas to get formal qualifications at an acupuncture school. Even then, the practice was not formally recognised in many western countries and certain states within the USA.
Recent years have seen a huge increase by the public showing a genuine interest in alternative healing. There have been just too many pills given out that it’s become a little crazy in recent generations. Pills and treatments that either don’t work, are too addictive, or they do work and they’re not addictive, but they have many unpleasant side effects. People have become fed up with the pill-popping culture and starting to realise that a dependence on western medication is not really helping towards healthy living, but more of a lifestyle of existence. The mind and body treatment options given by popular alternative healing and treatments are non-invasive, respectful, and showing promising results in many patients.
Western medical professionals are very sceptical about the benefits of such treatments as acupuncture, mediation, hypnotherapy, massage, and all the other popular options, but then again they would be. After all, a patient by one name is a customer by another, and who would want to start losing their paying patients to the alternatives.

Personal care is a multibillion dollar business these days, but unfortunately that’s caring about the outside appearance rather than the inside body and mind. Okay, so some might say that when we look good on the outside, we feel good on the in, but this is not always the case. One of the most purchased beauty products is the range offered to change hair color styles, hair shape, hair smell, and of course, the feel of that crop on top. Hair care is big business not only with women but among men too, especially teenage boys up to mid twenties. This is why there is no shortage of new products for enhancing the look of both hair and body. Today’s young chaps are even wearing make-up these days and it has nothing to do with being gay, bi, or getting in touch with their feminine side, but simply because the girls like pretty boys who are clean cut ant cute. The age of the pony tailed tattooed carpet monster is long gone, and the few that are still standing protecting their masculinity are the ones that will remain single unless they already managed to snare some poor girly girl into marrying them. Older generations think the youth has gone completely mad, but whatever you views about it all, at least the young fashion conscious lads of today are not grubby, unkempt individuals with dishevelled hair, scruffy dress, and filthy finger nails!
