When you face the need to lose weight, it’s critical to assess your appetites as well as the tradeoffs you are willing to make. What’s important to you – quantity or quality? Is quantity important in some foods but not others? What foods do you insist be high quality? The reason you should think these things through is this: if you choose a way of eating that doesn’t suit your appetites, you will find yourself hungry and/or frustrated.
You will need to make some decisions about what you want to eat, and what you’re willing to forego in order to make your weight loss goals. Could you live without fried chicken if it meant you could have delicious lean grilled steak on a salad? It is essential to think through these tradeoffs so that your eating will become more mindful.
A good way to lose weight is simply to eat healthier. Eating more vegetables, quality carbohydrates, healthy fats, and lean meats will get you well on your way to being more lean and healthy. Avoid red meat and various junk foods such as chips, cookies, cake, and candy.
Instead of weighing yourself once a week or once a month, you should try weighing yourself maybe once a day or more. By doing this, you allow yourself to make any adjustments needed so that you can lose weight faster.
