You are simply neglecting to do the same things you would in summer. Step up your moisturizing routine, and be sure you are getting the vitamin D that your body needs each day. Just fifteen minutes of sunlight and a glass of fortified milk each day can give you all that you need. Your problems with dry skin may be a result of a condition. This is something that is going to be determined by a doctor. There are some skin conditions that give you very dry skin that are not going to respond to any type of lotion or other treatment in the way that regular dry skin is going to. If you have scaly and very dry skin that you can not help no matter what you do, you should make an appointment with your doctor or a dermatologist if you have access to one. In fact, your family doctor should give you a referral.

No matter what the source or reason for your very dry skin, there are a few simple things that you can do to help. Make sure you are drinking enough water each day, and avoid very hot and dry conditions. Remember to keep the baths and showers a little less hot than usual, and use a great moisturizer each time you clean and before you go to bed. When things get bad, but you don’t have a medical condition, try an oatmeal bath once a week for a bit of relief.
